About Us
We’re a homeschooling collective who have spent the past five years learning firsthand what families need from a meaningful drop-off program.
For those of you who don’t know us, we’ve been part of the homeschooling community for the past five years while homeschooling our own children.
And we’re not lying when we say — we feel like we’ve tried just about every program out there!
When we first began homeschooling, we were also working. We quickly experienced firsthand just how challenging it can be to balance work, homeschooling and family life.
We understand how difficult it can be to find a program that genuinely meets your child’s needs, your working arrangements and the needs of your family.
Eventually, those challenges meant stepping away from work. Along the way, we tried different drop-off programs, but we often found they were more focused on socialisation than providing the kinds of meaningful learning experiences we were looking for.
After searching for learning experiences and drop-off programs that could genuinely meet the needs of both children and their families, we kept coming back to the same problem — we couldn’t quite find what we were looking for.
They say, “If you can’t find it, create it.”
So, in 2026, that’s exactly what we decided to do.
We began creating and organising programs, excursions and events to test the waters and see whether other homeschooling families were looking for the same thing.
Over the course of that year, we received incredibly positive responses. More importantly, it gave us the opportunity to learn through real experience — seeing what worked, what didn’t, what children responded to and what parents needed from a program.
Through trial and error, feedback and experience, we were able to better understand how to create experiences that balance meaningful learning, enjoyment, connection, practical skills and the needs of homeschooling families.
Our founders’ experience spans 21 years across office and professional environments, including working as an Operations Manager for top-tier law firms, with a large component of those roles involving social and corporate event management and coordination. She has also worked as a Waste Minimisation and Education Officer, giving her experience across both professional operations and education.
Along with her professional experience, she has a degree in Business Management, majoring in Human Resource Management, as well as qualifications and training in Training and Assessment, Learning and Development, and Workplace Health and Safety. We also hold a current Blue Card and First Aid Certificate.
Her qualifications include:
- Degree in Business Management – majoring in Human Resource Management
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Learning and Development
- Workplace Health and Safety
- Current Blue Card
- Current First Aid Certificate
Combined with her own homeschooling journey, these qualifications and more than two decades of professional experience have given her the organisational knowledge, practical skills and understanding of what is needed to bring Explorers Collective to life.
Why We Created Explorers Collective
Explorers Collective hasn’t been something that was created overnight.
It comes to families after a year of testing, planning, organising, listening and learning.
That year allowed us to refine the concept and create a program with a clear purpose: to give children and teenagers meaningful opportunities to learn beyond the traditional classroom while also providing families with a structured drop-off option.
We wanted children and teenagers to have opportunities to visit businesses, organisations, farms, community facilities and outdoor environments and discover:
- 1
What do they do?
- 2
How do they do it?
- 3
Why do they do it?
- 4
What skills could I learn here?
- 5
And could this be a pathway for my future?
That became Explorers Collective Homeschool Program.
Real Experiences
Participants get out into the community, interact with businesses and organisations, and experience outdoor and practical activities.
Meaningful Connections
Young people meet others with different skills and careers, gaining knowledge they can carry into their future.
Future Pathways
It’s about opening their eyes to possibilities — interests, skills, industries and pathways they may not have known existed.
Most importantly, this program comes to you with a year of testing and a year of planning behind it, with the aim of ensuring your children have the best possible learning experiences and opportunities for positive outcomes.
Explorers Collective brings together learning, exploration, practical experiences and connection — created by people who understand firsthand the realities of homeschooling, the needs of our children and the challenges families face trying to balance it all.
Learn. Explore. Connect.
That’s what Explorers Collective is all about.
